The Philosophy
Extent of Processing
Food is grouped according to the extent of processing rather than nutrient contents. Learn how to use the Nova Classification System to select foods and have confidence that you are nourishing your body properly.
Preparation
Food is transformed into meals by preparation with minimally processed culinary ingredients applied in moderation. Dishes can be prepared to fit all taste preferences. Recipes are simple, ingredients are accessible, and be encouraged to choose what is socially and environmentally sustainable.
Mode of Eating
Digestion is improved and portions are controlled when time and attention is devoted to eating and the environment where it occurs. Sharing meals with others enhances social relationships, pleasure and satisfaction. Learn how the practice of mindful eating can help you achieve your weight and health goals.
Culturally Inclusive
Because food and preparations are not derived from one specific region, the Brazilian Dietary Pattern is a culturally inclusive approach to nutrition and health. Foods are chosen based on their degree of processing rather than the traditions and culture of one geographical population.
